Afternoon update from the Houston County Emergency Management Agency: "We have seen a tremendous amount of thawing today and most of our roadways are clearing. There are still several areas that have slush and ice especially in shaded spots. These areas will refreeze tonight and create patches of ice. Please use caution when driving tonight and tomorrow as some of these areas may be difficult to see. Based on what we have seen today we are hopeful that warming tomorrow should resolve the majority of the remaining icy areas. As always, just use caution and take it slow."

𝗠𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 - 𝟭𝟭:𝟯𝟵𝗮𝗺 Don't be fooled by the sunshine and slightly above freezing temperatures —icy spots remain. Shaded areas, overpasses, and hills are problem areas and stopping your vehicle on slick roads will be difficult. Our crews are prioritizing main roads to ensure emergency vehicles can get to those in need. Unfortunately, neighborhood side streets will take longer to address. Getting through events like this winter storm takes us all pulling together as a community. Here’s how you can help: ✅ Residents, the safest place to be is at home. This also keeps roads clear so our crews can work and get things back to normal as quickly as possible. ✅ Businesses, we encourage you to remain closed. This will help to keep people safely off the roads. Public Works and Public Safety teams from Warner Robins, Perry, Centerville, and Houston County are working around the clock to keep our roads safe. Let’s do our part by staying off them as much as possible.

9:25am - From Houston County Emergency Management Agency: "Morning update. Many of you are asking about the roads. Not much has changed from last night. We are actively working to assess all the roads in the County and Cities but it will take some time. Much of the Interstate is a parking lot. Please do not get out on the roads unless you have no other choice. Crews are doing their best to clear the snow and apply salt or sand to ensure emergency vehicles can travel. It is likely we will see some melting this afternoon but not expecting much. Any liquid remaining will refreeze this evening creating much of the same problems."
