General Information about Paying Utility Bills

  • Your first bill will be received in approximately 45 days from the date services were started

  • Bills are payable up to 15 days from billing date

  • A 10% penalty will be added the next day after the due date

  • Service is subject to disconnection 1 week after past due date, if not paid

  • Delinquent re-connection per trip is a $35 service charge, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Returned payments will result in a $30 service charge and discontinuance of services until redeemed by cash, money order or credit card

  • Accounts not paid 30 days after billing date will be closed. An activation fee of $65 will be required to reconnect service

  • Bills may be paid at city hall

    • Inside 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    • Drive thru window is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Night drops are located at the drive thru

  • Payments dropped after 2 p.m. will be next day's business

Temporary Services

Water and Gas

A homeowner can request temporary service for 30 days or less without paying an activation fee.  This is generally for cleaning up a home prior to selling or leasing.  The customer pays for actual consumption.  The account is automatically set to close in 30 days.  If,  the service is needed for more than 30 days, the customer has to request an active account and pay activation fees. This applies to water and gas services.

Past Due & Disconnected Service:

Late Payments & Discontinued Service:

  • Payments are applied according to the oldest outstanding balance. The penalty date is generally 15 calendar days after the billing date. The penalty date is noted on the bill received by the customer. A penalty of 10% of the outstanding balance is applied on any outstanding balance remaining as of the penalty date. Customers not satisfying the outstanding balance, including penalty, by the penalty date of the succeeding bill are subject to having service discontinued until all arrears are paid. The services will NOT be turned on until all arrears are paid. The customer is also subject to reconnection fees.

Past Due Accounts, Nonpayment Disconnect, and/or Loss of Service

  • Sec. 24-7. - Bills; penalty; disconnection.

    • (a)Bills to customers for utility services shall be mailed out on such day or days of each month as may be determined to be desirable and the amount due shall be payable in ten (10) days from the date thereof, and if not paid within fifteen (15) days of the date bills are mailed, a penalty of ten (10) percent of the amount of the bill shall be added thereto and collected. If the amount of the bill is not paid within twenty (20) days after the date the bill is rendered, all utility services shall be disconnected unless a prior agreement has been reached between the city and the utility customer.

    • (b)The mayor, at his/her discretion, may authorize the utility department to continue service for new owners of property where a lien exists if the new owners agree to an installment payment schedule with a period not to exceed twelve (12) months. Where the responsible party does not meet the agreed payment schedule services shall be discontinued.

  • Should a service be disconnected for non-payment; balance in full is required along with an additional penalty fee. For closed accounts, due to non-payment, the account balance must be paid as well as a new activation fee.

Means of Collection:

  • If for any reason any discontinued utility service remains unpaid after it becomes due and is not promptly paid upon demand, the city shall pursue collections through a third party collection agency.

  • If you have an active account upon the time that the final bill comes past due, the balance will be transferred to your active account. If a past due balance has been sent to collections, the City of Warner Robins reserves the right to transfer this balance to your active account.
