From HEMA: As I’m sure most of you have heard the recent news about the Coronavirus and that we now have 2 confirmed cases in GA. Let me assure each of you that we are monitoring this closely along with our amazing team at the Health Department. At this time there is absolutely no cause for alarm despite what a lot of the “Social Media News” has caused. If you would like accurate information on this, please seek it from reputable sources that deal with epidemiology such as the CDC or GA Dept. of Public Health. The links to each of their pages is below and there is a wealth of knowledge on each site. Houston County does have a Pandemic Plan in place, and we are currently in a monitoring stage following the guidance from our partners at the CDC and Public Health. Again, at this point there is no cause for alarm and the risk of transmission remains low in GA.
